For some reason Maglor is considered as the more lever headed of the feanorians… which I suspect is the result of a massive propaganda campaign set by Maglor himself (plus some well-meant aid from Elrond and Elros) set during the second age.

Oh, Maglor is the nice one, but that's not saying much.
