Superman had entered a storm of conflicting emotions whenever it came to the two boys that he would never meet. Violation, at what had been done to the man of steel without his knowledge. He could never have a child of his own and yet these monsters had dared to make two from his stolen flesh. He had felt pity for their abrupt ends. And the emotion that troubled him most of all...

Ok! So I thought it had been a while since I made some form of “fanfiction based” fanart, so I made some! this time it is for the third chapter of the story “Of Splendid Glory” by Selina (btw, the tittle was also taken from this chapter! )

Superman looks at the Earth while he contemplates the fates of the two superman clones created by Cadmus…

So, if the kids look a little bit dead is because they are... or at least they are dead as far as superman knows, that's why I also wanted to show them lying in a sort of dark place.

I also wanted the two boys to be similarly dressed and have no defining characteristics because for Superman, who probably only saw photos of them extracted from Cadmus archives (if at all) they are kind of an abstract thought:  creatures who were only alive for a brief time but now are gone.

In any case, the mere idea of a living breathing thing created from his DNA probably haunts him, and he must feel reasonably guilty for feeling relief that they are dead.
