Solstice usually happens on June 21-20, and it wasn’t until now that I considered that while I’m celebrating summer Solstice, it’s also winter solstice in the South.

Which makes this the perfect moment to release this image.
;)

In the image:
Before Zuko arrived to their family, Hakoda used to joke and drink with his friends all night during the winter solstice. But now, as strange as it may seem, he finds himself more relaxed watching his new son sleep. Even Katara and Kana prefer to spend the night beside Zuko than in the Main House, and Hakoda practically has to shove Sokka out of the tent to convince him to go to the feast for a little while.


So there, while practically everyone is cheering and feasting, Hakoda’s family prefers to pass the time around each other. It makes for a nice image, what with all your family around. ^^;

I know it's winter, but inside that tent the fire goes nonstop, and Kana and Katara are used to cold temperatures, so of course they are using summer clothes inside; Hakoda has just arrived after some 'chief duty' and is in the process of removing his parka (and probably placing it over Zuko, who despite beign almost drowned by furs still looks like he's cold ^^;)

So, I was planning on uploading this on the Winter Solstice (or Summer Solstice, whatever) but then the unthinkable happened:

And since she’s not feeling that great about the world right now, I thought this would be a fine ‘cheer up!’ present.

And I know the tent they had in the cartoon is not the same, but I’m going for practicality (and probability), maybe they used that triangle tent just for summer, and prefer a more structured one on winter? Who knows…

well, I'm glad I finally have a stalker! Hi! hello! :wave:

mmmhh, I haven't read Ember, but I red Tehft Absolute and thought it waas pretty good! but I did read Embers! ...teh one from avocado love right? with the SG1 crew? I really liked that story, but because you have real life people in there I'm a little hesitant to draw them... ^^;

I love this story! (It's too bad it seems like it's been dropped though :() This picture is so full of love and kinship, and little Katara and Zuko are so cute :heart:

oh me too! though Advocado love had a LJ account where she assured everyone this is nor abandoned, so that gives me hope!

...but I'm a very guillible person, so don't believe me... ^^;

Katara is very cute, and I love how Zuko is always trying to protect her and do nice by her; makes you wonder: if Zula were a better person, she'd probably would have gotten the same treatment...

Thanks :) Got it in a charity thing- if I changed my icon a certain amount would be donated by the artist. It was successful, and it's over, but the icon is too priceless :D
